The World According To C

To Those Who Drag Their Chairs

To those who pierce the quiet with noise and with shouting.
Who with all of their might and for motives unknown,
slam all the doors and set windows rattling.
With complete disregard for the calm and the tone
To those who rather the screech and cacophony,
to the slight inconvenience of lifting their hand,
who with scorn and contempt for peace and tranquility,
drag and scrape and throw chairs 'cross the ground.
Perhaps within you lie jewels of great wisdom,
that glittering and sparkling could heal the world.
Should that be the case then please climb the rooftops,
And shout and proselytize that we all might avail.
But unless and until you wield such powers,
I beg for the sake of my splintering nerves.
Shut up, and lift your chair.
